Met up with army guys yesterday. Not many turned up. This time’s organizer is Ronald and he did not have an easy time organizing the event. And the location this time is Martin’s friend’s restaurant - Swiss Culture.

Typical with meeting guys - lateness. Almost everyone is late and everyone thinks everyone’s going to be late and they’re so right. Everyone was present an hour later and we ordered some stuff.

Swiss Culture’s pretty famous for their wings. Golden fried chicken wings:

Ronald really likes his cheese, he ordered cheesy pasta with mushroom. It looked quite nice already, I was imagining a horrible pile of… Nevermind.

Delon has meat platter, one of Swiss Culture’s recommendations.

I had pork sausage. It wasn’t really filling.

We also tried the oil fondue with seafood. You’re presented uncooked seafood and you put the seafood into this pot of oil. The pot resembles one of those chocolate fondue pots. I fried calamari and salmon. Also deep fry the already fried french fries.

The food is good and we enjoyed ourselves. Didn’t join them further for movies. Too tired already. You can find Swiss Culture at Suntec City, Tropics, level 3.

Subway prides themselves with selling meals with 6 grams of fat or less. They put them everywhere, on their pamphlets, even on their cups.

Subway and their 6 grams of fat

But did you know that the 6 grams of fat or less thing assumes the following:

  • No cheese
  • No cookies
  • No funny sauces, use pepper instead
  • No fanciful bread, meaning the wheat bread I think

Well… By having those extras, it’s 6 grams no more. Thanks Doctor’s Associates. And yup, I had Subway for lunch.

Well, it’s raining pretty heavy at my area and not a chance of going out. I guess I’m staying home today and eating wheat cracker biscuits for brunch.

Wheat crackers biscuit for lunch

Wheat crackers is actually soh ta piah. They go well with milk. I was talking about soh ta piah with a friend months back and I pointed out my cup is too small to fit the biscuit. And she told me her strategy of dipping soh ta piah.

Strategy to dipping soh ta piah

Place your wheat cracker diagonally and dip one of the corners into the milk or coffee. Chew off that corner, now rotate your soh ta piah 90 degrees clockwise or anti-clockwise and you can dip it in already.

Oh god, I feel so stupid when I heard that. I always break my soh ta piah into two.

So tempted to put this under How To, hahaa… Okay it’s done.

Was at the fruit stall today. But they didn’t have avocado drink today so I had Subway instead.

I sort of forget that there’s a math exam tomorrow. I think I must have been totally blur or something. I met Anne-marie just now and she was telling me about math this and that. And then she made a mention on examinations tomorrow.

I was like, “huh? is tomorrow?”

I was feeling panicky after realizing the mistake. I went for a haircut and decide to have something really light and study. Okay, no avocado drink so no choice, I had to eat Subway ’cause they had this discount going on. I just had to.

Now I’m too full. Maybe I’ll go bathe first or something. No post for the rest of the day!

I got bored of McDonalds’ and the pretty-girl cafeteria and junk food actually.

Ate something different today - zong zai fun. There is this nice lady selling it at the Bukit Batok area and I bought the food from her stall a couple of times.

Zong Zai Fun

Quite filling too. Something different. Placed a lot of chilli there as you can see, hahaa… Happy lunching.

On a side note, there is this old man who always brings his dog down at noon time. Always wanted to ask the old man if I could take a picture of his dog. I actually intended to ask today, but… his dog is not around. Another day I guess.

Fruits are really cheap. I always thought they’re expensive and when I visit the local stores to get some juices, I can’t help noticing the price. I thought apples are two dollars actually. I think I have a totally incorrect view of the local fruits market.

Apples, oranges and more

Delicious and healthy. Maybe I can consider them replacing my lunch. I usually have pastas, sandwiches or some chicken thingy for lunch. They’re a little boring and Ridz and I decided to have McDonalds’ last week. We just thought, “hey let’s have something different instead.” I guess we got bored of the cafeteria.

Ah, this is just craps. And it’s embarrassing that it gotten to this blog. I was having my lunch at the downstairs cafeteria and there is this two people who sells me my pasta and sandwiches.

There is an older lady who’s very nice, she always tries to speak English with me. I always wanted to tell her, “Erm, 其实我会讲华语.” (Erm, actually I know mandarin.)

I couldn’t tell her that sometimes and it would sound like an awful joke if, after one year, I tell her I actually know mandarin and she doesn’t have to struggle with English to me.

And then there’s a younger lady who’s quite pretty. I always thought they’re a family. They look quite similar too. And I finally realized that they’re not.

And guess what? The younger lady is actually the lady boss of the store! The older lady is her worker. Wow, I am really surprised. She’s probably 25 and that’s very young to be the owner of a food stall.

I like pasta.
