My brother just left for Batam this morning and it is least comforting to know that an earthquake occurred in Indonesia early this morning.
Indonesia quake kills two, tsunami warning lifted
(CNN) — A 7.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Indonesia early Monday, leaving two people dead and 37 injured, health authorities said, but warnings of a possible tsunami were soon lifted.
The quake struck about 1:02 a.m. Monday (12:02 p.m. ET Sunday), according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was nearly 1,900 kilometers east-northeast of Jakarta, the capital.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the quake had “the potential to generate a destructive regional tsunami along coasts located within 1,000 km of the earthquake epicenter,” and Indonesia’s National Meteorology and Geophysics Agency warned of a possible tsunami.
No tsunami formed, and Indonesia dropped its warning. But before it was dropped, local TV reports in Gorontalo described panicked residents outside their homes. (Source: CNN)
He arrived at the hotel already. I hope things would be fine there. He’s going for some trip to help build schools or something. He said he was forced.
Not sure if you noticed how little I blogged last week. My previous keyboard was all to blame. The alphabet ‘e’ cannot work and no matter how hard I depress it, the cursor just blinks nonchalantly.
Since ‘e’ is the most common alphabet in daily English, I was type-impaired. Assigned the alphabet ‘e’ to Control+C works for 5 minutes but I given up typing soon after.
As a bonus, I never did as much studying for a week. Perhaps when examination nears I can consider wreaking my keyboard.
Anyhow, I bought a new keyboard. It’s the very same one from Microsoft. It’s the wired curve keyboard 2000 or something. I got so used to it I couldn’t feel right typing on something else.
We were walking out of the Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ school. He needs a cigarette.
“Finally visited a girl’s school,” he announced.
“Yeah, is that in your things-to-do-before-I-die checklist too?”
He laughed, “Yeah, finally… Finally the day has come.”
“Checked.”
“Yup, checked.”
Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) (Abbreviation: PLMGSS) is an all-girls school located in Hougang, Singapore, running on a single session catering to pupils in the Special, Express, Normal Academic and Normal Technical streams, hence fulfilling its mission of opening its doors to the very able as well as the less able. Since 1995, PLMGSS has been offering Higher Chinese (HCL) to her pupils. There are 61 teachers, 80% of whom are committed Christians. Approximately 25% are old girls, a special feature of the school. Erm, what are old girls by the way? Or is that one of those Wikipedia nonsense.
The little-known cavity may support the theory that the 4,500-year-old monument to Pharaoh Khufu was constructed inside out, via a spiraling, inclined interior tunnel—an idea that contradicts the prevailing wisdom that the monuments were built using an external ramp.
The inside-out theory’s key proponent, French architect Jean-Pierre Houdin, says for centuries Egyptologists have ignored evidence staring them in the face.

What to do when you’re really bored? You can listen to Nicolas Sarkozy (France President) speak:
Sarko et la langue de Shakespeare!?
What he’s trying to say is:
You are welcome to invest in France. We will be happy to help you make money in France. And of course to make some money with you for us.
Nicolas Sarkozy
Funny stuff.
Sarkozy, by the way, has a very beautiful wife. His third one to be exact. Sarkozy married Carla Bruni (with Italian descent) on just this year if I’m not wrong. Here’s a picture of the French first lady:

Much better than Sarah Palin in my opinion. And speaking of Sarah Palin, she got pranked by Montreal comedy DJ duo:
Sarah Palin gets pranked by “Nicolas Sarkozy”
Sarah Palin spend much time boot licking. The best is that this is recorded and she sounded… Never mind.
That’s really odd statement, considering the fact that it originates from Microsoft.
The student put Ballmer on the hot seat by asking, “Why is IE still relevant and why is it worth spending money on rendering engines when there are open source ones available that can respond to changes in Web standards faster?”
“There will still be a lot of proprietary innovation in the browser itself so we may need to have a rendering service,” Ballmer said, adding, “Open source is interesting. Apple has embraced Webkit and we may look at that, but we will continue to build extensions for IE 8.” (Source: AppleInsider)
