I am using Windows 7, and I’m lacking MSVCR71.dll which is Microsoft Visual C Runtime library when using sendmail, the PostgreSQL PHP connector and curl. The MSVCR71.dll is probably bundled with .NET Framework 1.1 or something, but I couldn’t get those to install successfuly.
The program can’t start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this program.
So how do I solve it:
- Download MSVCR71.dll from dll-files.com. (It is free.)
- Unzip…
- Place MSVCR71.dll into C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 if you using a 64-bit Windows.
And sendmail now works for me already in Windows 7.
By the way, I only tested this in Windows 7 64-bit. I assumed it would work for other versions of Windows. I would appreciate it if you could feedback to me if it works on your version of Windows.

It is reported working for Windows 7 32-bit as well.

I also benefited from this advice on Win 7 x64. As I was reading I noticed that someone named Fawn was installing same program as me th Bamboo graphics studio tablets. This is the key error “Adobe Projector has stopped working” you need a second dll fill called MSVCP71.dll which has a P before the “71″ and not “R”
and not MSVCR71.dll.
In other words you need a second dll file called “MSVCP71.dll” in order for the Bamboo tablet to work. The P is for the projector dll fill to work. I also got the file from dll-files.com.

Would that work for MSVCP71.DLL ? In my case I have been trying to install a game but when I put disc into the dvd drive I get the message that the aforementioned dll is missing. So I can’t install the game. I do have this dll in other games and it is the original Microsoft one. What do you reckon. Should I just copy it and then paste it in my system32 ? Do I have to register it ( CMD , Regsvr32 msvcp71.dll )
